There are several restaurants nearby, either on Orchard Mesa, or cross the river on 29 Road to get to town quickly & easily! There is a City Market on Orchard Mesa, and Wal-mart & Safeway are off of 29 Road. While it is difficult to walk to any of these, they are all just a short drive away.
Access to Services
Hawks Nest has convenient access to a variety of shops and services. Some are located on Orchard Mesa, while others are easily accessed by 29 Road, 32 Road, or taking the highway west to 5th Street.
Nearby Schools
The nearby schools for Hawks Nest. Mesa View Elementary is almost next door, and the kids walk to school. Orchard Mesa Middle School and Central High School have bus stops to pick the kids up. There are several private schools & a charter school nearby as well, and many families take advantage of both public & private options.
Access to Grand Junction & Points Beyond
Hawks Nest offers easy access to most of the Grand Valley via 32 Road, 29 Road, or Highway 50. 29 Road crosses the river to I-70B, North Avenue, and Patterson, giving you quick access to town.
Heading west on Highway 50 will drop you onto 5th Street, taking you directly downtown, or you can catch Riverside Parkway east or west to quickly get to shopping areas. Heading west on Riverside Parkway will drop you onto 25 Road at Highway 6/I-70B. This will also take you towards the 22 & 24 Road on-ramps for I-70.
Heading north on 32 Road offers quick access to I-70, giving you access towards Denver or Salt Lake. Heading east on Highway 50 will take you through Whitewater towards Delta, Montrose, and the San Juans.
