With all of the kitchen styles out there, it can get very confusing! If you are looking for a home or thinking of remodeling your current one, how do you explain what you like to your Realtor®, Contractor, or Interior Designer?
We found this Houzz.com article today, and thought we would share it with you! It explains the difference in the 10 most popular styles, and shows photos as well, so you know at a glance if you love it – or not!
Take a moment to read through it, and let us know if it was helpful.
Do you have a favorite design style already? Do you love more than one of the kitchen styles?
I’m trying to figure out how to blend a little bit of traditional, rustic, and industrial together to create a functional, inviting, and aesthetically pleasing kitchen. I love old brick, copper and cast iron, dark stained wood cabinets with some panel detailing, natural stone countertops, and stained concrete or wood-look flooring (without the wood hassle). I haven’t quite figured out how to bring it all together, but I’m slowly getting there!
Janet prefers traditional kitchens all the way, using warm stained wood cabinets, natural stone countertops, and a nice, deep sink. She likes little details that capture the eye and give the space a little something extra.
We both feel that a kitchen should be a place that invites you in to spend time. It should be a place that makes you feel welcome, happy, and comfortable. A place to gather and enjoy time with one another. It should also be functional and fit your needs.
If you could design your dream kitchen, what would it include? Is there a specific brand or style of appliance you’d want? Do you want an island or breakfast bar? What design style (or styles) would you prefer? We would love to hear! Dreaming about the perfect kitchen can be so fun.
